Dear interested stakeholder,
The World Bank, in consultation with Moldova stakeholders, have been working on developing a project on Women’s Empowerment through GBV Services (WEGS). The WEGS Project is funded by the World Bank Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) and will be implemented by the NGO “Gender-Centru” as grant recipient and AO Asociatia pentru Abilitarea Copilului și Familiei AVE Copiii, as partner to implement the project at regional level.
All new operations and projects initiated/financed by the World Bank are accompanied by an analysis of the environmental and social impact of the activities envisaged within the project.
Citizen and stakeholder engagement plays a major role in ensuring the effectiveness of World Bank operations, and constitutes a core corporate commitment. For the WEGS Project, the analysis of the environmental and social impact of the activities envisaged within the project, as well as stakeholder engagement are incorporated in the attached WEGS Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Labor Management Procedures, and Environmental and Social Commitment Plan which are being disclosed for public consultation.
A public consultation meeting was held on September 4, 2024 from 14:00 to 16:00 online. The documents disclosed above include all the feedback, proposals and comments received from interested stakeholders who participated in public consultation.
